A 3D scene for the law of Approved Service Languages

Law 12 · Approved Service Languages

Deployed services are forged in strong metal only.

The Mossy Dekalogue · Law 12 of 14 · decreed 2026-11-02 by FiremanDeckoDeployed services are written only in TypeScript, Golang, or Rust. Never a loosely-typed tongue — no Python past the gate. Ad-hoc scripts and one-off tools may take the most convenient language, but stay mindful of dependency sprawl.

A service runs unattended for months, and a loose type is a story that changes in the telling: it holds in the telling and fails in the field, at three in the morning, where no watcher sits. Strong metal fails at the forge instead — the compiler reads the work before the world does, and what it refuses never reaches the night. TypeScript, Golang, Rust: the three steels of the forge, and any service carved from another needs the smith's leave.

Scripts are another country. A tool that dies young may take the nearest language, for convenience is no sin at that scale — but every dependency is a debt, and sprawl is how gardens rot. First holding of the law: mytruthfinder — its services and its job implementations in Rust upon Axum, the most popular API framework in that country.
