the threshold watcher — the eye at the gate of the house

Found at the census: four eyes — the Front Doorbell, the Patio, the Front Entry, the TynBox camera. A small watch, doubled at the wall by the realm's own Heimdall. Horn quiet; eyes open.
Between the world and the hearth stands one small bronze watcher: the Front Doorbell, the eye at the gate. It sees who crosses the threshold — package, guest, wind-blown branch — and speaks to the hearth, which speaks to the realm's greater watchman. Two thresholds, both watched: the garden's wall, and the house's door. Nothing enters either unannounced.
